GSTS win the prestigious Liverpool Central Library contract

Liverpool Central Library

It’s a great honour to have won this prestigious contract. Many of us here at GSTS have enjoyed the Central Library for years. Coming as kids, throughout college and now bringing our children and grand children.

It underwent a magnificent refurbishment in 2013 and now features a 72 foot granite walkway inlaid with the titles of literary classics. The titles also include a riddle picked out in red letters, something you can keep an eye out for next time you visit. It also features a central atrium, with a series of open-plan floors. The atrium is topped with a glass dome and the building has a roof terrace, with stunning views out over the city centre.

In 2018 it was awarded The Bookseller’s Library of the Year Award.

Our CEO, Dave Potts commented;

“I’ve been coming to the library for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a magical place and I was mesmerised by the Picton Reading Room as a child – I still am in fact! So to have won this contract really means a lot. If you’ve not experienced the views from the roof terrace you really should get it on your to do list for the summer.”
